Membership Fee

Every adult Catholic living in Finland has an obligation to pay a membership fee to their parish.

The membership fee applies to every Catholic who has turned 18, whose annual income is at least €15,000, and who has no significant reasons for exemption. The fee is 1.5% of taxable earned income (or other equivalent income).

Parishes regularly allocate a portion of the membership fee revenues to the diocese. The diocese relies on these funds to maintain shared operations and to support parishes that are not self-sufficient.

Everyone’s support is needed.
