Prevention of and Response to Sexual Harassment and Abuse
The Catholic Church in Finland is committed to ensuring that everyone can live and participate in the life of the Church without fear of sexual or any other form of harassment or abuse. We strive to be a community in which the dignity of every person is respected and where inappropriate behaviour has no place.
All employees and volunteers who work with minors and vulnerable persons are required to complete safeguarding training. This training focuses on preventing sexual harassment and abuse, as well as on responding appropriately when concerns arise. Particular emphasis is placed on the protection of children.
This website provides information on what constitutes harassment, how it is prevented within our diocese, and how to act if you witness or experience harassment in the context of the Catholic Church.
Through this site, you can also confidentially report inappropriate behaviour by Church personnel.
